A monument was erected here to the police officers, who were killed by a bus carrying illegal migrants last August. The official opening of the monument is scheduled for August 25, which is the one-year anniversary of the tragedy, the head of the Burgas Police, Senior Commissioner Emil Pavlov, said here on Monday.

The monument is placed in the location where the police officers died in the line of duty.

The two police officers, Atanas Gradev and Yordan Iliev, lost their lives while trying to stop with their patrol car a bus carrying 48 migrants in an intersection in Burgas. The bus ran into the car, killing the two officers on the spot.
