A total of 1,480,547 citizens from 21 countries are registered in Turkey's address registration system in 2024, according to the Turkish National Statistical Institute.

The largest number of foreigner registrations in Turkiye in 2024 was that of Iraqi citizens - 177,988. They were followed by those from Afghanistan (139,251), Germany (115,958), Iran (95,924) and Russia (85,752). 

The number of registered Bulgarian citizens was 17,315.

Registrations of foreigners in Turkiye are reported to have declined by 89,966 compared to 2023. 

In Istanbul, 562,860 foreigners were registered in 2024, an year-on-year decrease of 36,312.
