site.btaTurkish Gendarmerie Seizes Large Number of Weapons from PKK in Operation across 16 Provinces

Turkiye’s Gendarmerie has seized explosives, weapons and grenade launchers from Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) militants during a large-scale operation across 16 provinces, Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya said on X on Thursday.

Weapons and explosives hidden by PKK separatists have been destroyed in 16 provinces, along with twelve caves and hideouts. Five kilograms of explosives, eight improvised explosive devices, rifles, hand grenades, grenade launchers and ammunition were seized, Yerlikaya said.

Helicopters and drones were also deployed during the raid.

The PKK, designated a terrorist organization by Turkiye, the European Union and the United States, has been waging an insurgency against the Turkish state since 1984.
