Traffic at Bulgaria's border crossings is normal, the Interior Ministry's General Directorate of Border Police said on its website. The information is as of 6 a.m.
Traffic at the border with Turkiye is normal at all border crossing points (BCPs). Temporarily, the crossing through the Malko Tarnovo BCP will be carried out on one route due to the reconstruction of the checkpoint.
Due to the increased interest in travelling on the Rudozem - Xanthi destination, the Border Police remind that construction works are being carried out on the road on the Greek side. The Greek authorities have placed signs indicating that the area is a construction site and no outsiders are allowed to enter the site. Only cars and vans up to 3.5 tonnes are allowed to pass through the border crossings in the area of Makaza, Zlatograd and Ivaylovgrad.
At the border with Serbia and the Republic of North Macedonia, traffic is normal at all border crossings.
At the border with Romania, the overhaul of the Bulgarian section of the Danube Bridge at Ruse has resumed as of January 8, 2025. A temporary traffic organisation has been introduced, with traffic being carried out in one lane with a through traffic regime and regulated by employees of the contractor, the Border Police also remind.
