site.btaBulgarian ISTAR Battalion Soldiers Participate in Danubian Whisper 24

Soldiers from the 1st Reconnaissance (ISTAR) Battalion, part of the 61st Stryama Mechanised Brigade of the Land Forces, participated in the international exercise Danubian Whisper 24 near Buzău, Romania, the Ministry of Defence said here on Friday.

The exercise involved military personnel from Romania, Moldova, and Poland and concluded on Friday.

Under the leadership of ISTAR battalion Deputy Commander Ivan Penov, the soldiers carried out reconnaissance tasks in challenging weather conditions in a mountainous and forested area.

The exercise helped enhance participants' interoperability and bolstered the units' ability to carry out various operations in allied or coalition settings to ensure security.
