site.btaNorth Macedonia Assembly Speaker Meets with Bulgarian Ambassador in Skopje

The newly elected Speaker of North Macedonia's Assembly, Afrim Gashi, met with Bulgarian Ambassador in Skopje Angel Angelov for the first time after Gashi's elections on May 28. At Thursday's meeting, the sides discussed the relations between Bulgaria and North Macedonia and the opportunities for improving the bilateral cooperation in various fields. 

Congratulating Gashi on his election, Angelov expressed certainty that through their heads as well as friendship groups, the new parliaments of Bulgaria and North Macedonia will establish a good and active communication. Angelov noted the importance of North Macedonia's Assembly for the opening of the country's EU path.

Gashi and Angelov exchanged opinions on the bilateral cooperation within NATO. They agreed that the climate of the bilateral relations should be constantly improved.
