Romania's Defence Minister Angel Tilvar Sunday said that there is no imminent danger of Russia attacking Romania.

"At this point, it is not about Russia attacking Romania. It is normal to have some concerns about Moscow's plans, considering that Ukraine is our neighbor," Tilvar told Digi24.

In his words, there are concerns about Russia's aggressive behaviour, given "the unprovoked aggression and violation of all norms of international law that Russia has committed against a sovereign state".

"Ukraine receives support; the degree of support it gets can be a matter of discussion. Russia's success has not been verified on the ground. We can perhaps talk about the fact that the intensity of Ukraine's counter-offensive does not meet our expectations," Tilvar said.

He noted that from Romania's point of view, it is clear that the Black Sea, which used to be a basin of peaceful trade, has become a dangerous area and that Black Sea shipping rates have increased.
