Sofia, September 10 (BTA) - Assets managed by insurance companies in Bulgaria amounted to 7,602 billion leva at the end of June 2018, up by 4.4 per cent compared to June 2017 and down by 1.6 per cent compared to the end of the first quarter of 2018, the Bulgarian National Bank said Monday.

Assets of life insurance companies grew by 7.3 per cent from 1,936 billion leva at the end of June 2017 to 2,078 billion leva at the end of June 2018. At the end of last June their share in the total assets was 27.3 per cent, compared to 26.6 per cent at the end of the second quarter of 2017 and 26.3 per cent at the end of March 2018.

Assets managed by general insurance companies increased by 3.3 per cent from 5,346 billion leva at the end of June 2017 to 5,525 billion leva at the end of the same month of 2018. At the end of last June, their share in the total assets was 72.7 per cent, compared to 73.4 per cent at the end of the second quarter of 2017 and 73.7 per cent at the end of March 2018.
