Sofia, September 17 (BTA) - A coalition council on Monday
between GERB and the United Patriots, nominated Rossen
Zhelyazkov as transport minister, Ataka leader Volen Siderov
told journalists.

Currently, Zhelyazkov chairs the Communications Regulation
Commission.

The previous nominee, Alexander Manolev, withdrew, saying that a
possible attack may be launched against him over conflict of
interests.

Siderov also said that the coalition council had proposed a meeting with President Rumen Radev to clarify all circumstances in connection with the termination of the credentials of the Interior Ministry Chief Secretary Mladen Marinov. The Ataka leader said that this was the best way to resolve the issue. He said that they were expecting the President to set a time and a place.

For his part, President Radev said that he only wanted the law to be observed.

The coalition council had concluded that it was not good when there was no communication between the institutions and decided to hold regular meetings with ministers on what remains to be done and what has been done.

GERB floor leader Tsvetan Tsvetanov said the resignations of the three ministers will top the agenda on Thursday's parliamentary sitting. He voiced hope that by then President Radev will decree the termination of Marinov's credentials.

Tsvetanov said that coordination is necessary when a new secretary is appointed but Marinov had wanted to leave. "We are turning to you because obviously the president wants to communicate through the media. We don't want confrontation with the president by no means," he added.
