Bulgarian PM Borissov Attends
Informal EU Summit
in Salzburg

Salzburg, September 20 (BTA) - Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borissov is taking part in an informal meeting of EU heads of State or government that opened in Salzburg, Austria, on Thursday, the Government Information Service said in a press release.

The leaders of the Twenty-Eight are discussing internal security, migration and Brexit.

Borissov said that the need to set up a corps for response to disasters and for the prevention of the illegal crossing of the European borders by migrants was raised during the meeting. The PM reiterated the importance of the agreements with third countries and recalled Bulgaria's position on halting the flow of irregular migrants to Europe. "I declared myself in favour of working with Africa. The agreement with Turkey is working, and Bulgaria is well. What matters is that the rest of the countries: Italy, Portugal, Greece, get support at their borders. In Bulgaria, we have delivered on our word," the PM added. RQ/LG
