Karayancheva heads a Bulgarian parliamentary delegation to Azerbaijan on the occasion of the Milli Majlis' 100th anniversary. On the delegation are Bulgaria-Azerbaijan Friendship Group Chairman Hamid Hamid and Deputy Chairman Dimiter Georgiev.

Karayancheva and Aliyev agreed on the importance of their countries continuing to develop their relations in the areas of energy, transport, new technologies, culture, sports, and education.

The National Assembly Chair underscored that Bulgaria continues to implement the Balkan Gas Hub project, and the agreement between Bulgaria and Azerbaijan will allow 1 billion m3 of Azeri natural gas to reach Bulgaria in 2020. President Aliyev reconfirmed the agreements reached by the two countries.

Karayancheva and Aliyev assessed highly the results of the Bulgarian PM Boyko Borissov's visit to Baku in January 2018 and noted the positive results of the launch of direct flights between Bulgaria and Azerbaijan. They confirmed that a significant increase in the number of business and tourism trips between the two countries has already been observed.

Bulgaria considers important its relations with Azerbaijan and views this country as a priority partner in the region, Karayancheva said.
