to UN General Assembly Session

Sofia, September 22 (BTA) - Prime Minister Boyko Borissov will lead the Bulgarian delegation to the 73rd Session of the UN General Assembly in New York between September 23 and 29, Cabinet's Press Service reported Saturday.

Borissov is scheduled to deliver a speech related to the main topic of the General Debate, which this year will be "Making the United Nations Relevant to All People: Global Leadership and Shared Responsibilities for Peaceful, Equitable and Sustainable Societies".

As part of his visit Borissov will participate in the high-level meeting "Global Call to Action on the World Drug Problem", organized on US President Donald Trump's initiative. Bulgaria will co-host the event.

Borissov will also attend the Nelson Mandela Peace Summit. The forum's goal is for the international community to reconfirm its commitment to global peace, conflict prevention and human rights protection.

During his visit, the Bulgarian Prime Minister will have bilateral meetings with UN state and government leaders, as well as NGO representatives.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ekaterina Zaharieva will also be on the Bulgarian delegation. MY
