Sofia, September 27 (BTA) - A man has been sentenced to two years in prison for desecrating the national flag and hooliganism, the prosecution service said.

In June, Mihail Mihailov published on social media a video of him setting alight the national flag, throwing it on the ground and urinating on it. The man was detained several hours after that.

A psychiatric examination showed that Mihailov was sane and could be held accountable for his actions.

The sentence is subject to appeal before the Appellative Specialized Criminal Court. LI/PP
