Krassimir Vlahov
on Constitutional Court


Sofia, October 5 (BTA) - Parliament on Friday elected Krassimir
Vlahov as Constitutional Court judge from its quota. The vote was 127 in
favour, with 55 abstentions.

Vlahov was backed by the MPs of GERB, the United Patriots, the
Movement for Rights and Freedoms and Volya. The Bulgarian
Socialist Party abstained in the vote.

After he was voted through, Vlahov said he was aware of the huge
responsibility that he had been is tasked with and vowed to
commit to it.

Vlahov has 20 years' experience as judge. He has served as vice
president and president of the Sofia District Court and as vice
president of the Supreme Court of Cassation.

Vlahov was the only nominee from the quota of Parliament. LI/PP
