Brussels, October 19 (BTA correspondent Nikolay Jeliazkov) - Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borissov said here on Friday that he had held a bilateral meeting with Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev at the 12th Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) summit.
"We noted the increase of Russian tourists in Bulgaria and the fact that we managed to safeguard the State against terrorist acts like the one in Sarafovo, the [special] services did a good job, the tourism industry benefited from that," Borissov told Bulgarian correspondents.
He was referring to a suicide bomber who blew himself up near a bus carrying Israeli tourists at Sarafovo Airport in the coastal city of Bourgas on July 18, 2012. The explosion killed six, including the Bulgarian bus driver, and injured another 37.
"The Intergovernmental [Bulgarian-Russian] Commission [for Economic, Scientific and Technological Cooperation] will meet in Moscow in October. In the area of energy, we compared notes on our Balkan Gas Hub. We will be able to receive natural gas from multiple sources," Borissov added. RQ/LG
