At a meeting of the Board of Directors of Holding BDZ EAD, it was decided to entrust the position of Executive Director of the company to Martin Angelov, who has been a member of the Board of Directors of Holding BDZ EAD, said the national railway carrier.

The outgoing executive director, Kiril Kostadinov, remains a member of the Company's Board with the main focus on ensuring security and enhancing the safety control of railway transport.

Mr. Angelov is a long-time employee of the railway system, with good knowledge of the financial processes in the BDZ holding companies.

At the meeting of the Board of Directors it was decided to dismiss Ventsislav Slavkov, Manager of BDZ - Passengers Ltd. and Chavdar Trendafilov, Manager of BDZ - Cargo Ltd. The reasons for their dismissal are related to the need for a change in the approach to the management of the companies in order to improve the results of their operational activity, ensure financial stability and the implementation of priority tasks related to the maintenance and technical condition of rolling stock. 

Svilen Gardev is the new head of BDZ Passengers - Ltd. and Deyan Boev of BDZ Cargo - Ltd. Both are long-term employees with proven professional experience in the railway sector and excellent knowledge of the activities and challenges facing the companies.

On Thursday, the Minister of Transport and Communications Grozdan Karadjov approved measures to improve safety in railway transport. There will be cameras in every locomotive, railcar and at railway stations. These are part of the short-term measures that will be implemented within six months to increase the safety of rail transport, the press centre of the Transport Ministry said.
