The conditions for hiking and winter sports are excellent, the Mountain Rescue Service (MRS) of the Bulgarian Red Cross (BRC) told BTA. The weather is sunny and calm, and temperatures are between 0C and 7C-8C.

Facilities at resorts are working and the snow cover on the slopes is between 50 and 90 cm, the MRS said.

It will be sunny in the mountains with broken high clouds, the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (NIMH) said. A light to moderate east-southeasterly wind will blow. The maximum temperature at an altitude of 1,200 metres will be about 16C, at 2,000 metres - about 7C.
