The first phase of the international project between Bulgaria and Romania for modernizing curriculum in lower secondary education, with support from the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and the European Commission (EC), will begin on March 7, Bulgaria’s Education and Science Ministry said in a press release.
Representatives from the OECD, Bulgaria’s Education Ministry, trade unions, employer organizations, school principals, and teachers will participate in a discussion on the priorities for developing, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating curricula. The conference will be opened by Education and Science Minister Krasimir Valchev at the conference hall of Sense Hotel Sofia at 10 a.m. on March 7.
The international project started at the end of 2024. By participating in it, Bulgaria and Romania will receive technical support from the OECD and the EC in their reform efforts to create more competency-based curricula.
