June 7 (BTA) - A centralized web-based platform for filing access to information requests will be launched in July, said Krassimir Bozhanov, head of the Modernization of the Administration Department with the Council of Ministers here on Friday.

Bozhanov said that the platform will provide a third option for people to obtain data more swiftly and easily in addition to submitting paper and email requests.

The platform will be public and the questions and the replies by the administration will be available to all users. Bozhanov said that anonymous tips and questions will be dismissed. If an administration denies the request for information it will have to send its refusal on paper so that it can be appealed in court.

There are 510 administrations countrywide and each one has to be registered on the platform and handle access to information requests addressed to it. In addition each has to designate an employee who will operate with the system. The moderators who will keep track of the requests will have to be appointed by mid-June. LI/PP//
