Sofia, June 14 (BTA) - The Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications, Rosen Zhelyazkov, has taken part in the meeting of the Board of Directors of the World Federation of Consuls (FICAC) organized in Sofia June 14, his Ministry said on Friday.

Addressing the meeting, Zhelyazkov recalled that Bulgaria has made considerable investments in modern optic infrastructure. Over 7,000 km of Internet backbone network is used by the state administration to provide secure and innovative e-services. The aim is that by 2025 all schools, transport centres and main public service providers, as well as digitally intensive enterprises should have access to 1 GB/sec Internet.

In addition, all households will have access to networks providing at least 100 100 Mbps speed. The main roads and railroads should have 24-h 5G broadband wireless coverage, starting with the provision of this service in at least one large city in each EU member country by 2020, Zhelyazkov said.
