in School, Kindergarten Improvements

June 15 (BTA) - Deputy Regional Development Minister Denitsa Nikolova said here on Saturday that over one billion leva had been invested in improving the school and kindergarten education environment since 2007.

Most of the money was invested between 2013 and 2019, with more than 1,200 projects implemented or in progress after 2007. Improving the access to education is a top priority of the government, meaning that teachers should introduce innovative methods. Nikolova added that the focus in the new programming period would be on state-of-the-art equipment.

Operational Programme Regions in Growth is making very good progress, said Nikolova. Eighty-six per cent of its funding has been contracted and half of it has been paid out to beneficiaries.

Nikolova was in Varna to check on the completed renovation of a secondary school. IG/DD
