Economy Minister Karanikolov, Serbian Minister without Portfolio for Innovation and Technological Development Popovic Discuss Ways to Improve Bilateral Economic Cooperation


June 20 (BTA)- Economy Minister Emil Karanikolov and Serbian Minister without portfolio responsible for innovation and technological development Nenad Popovic Thursday discussed ways to improve the commercial and economic relations between the two neighbours, Karanikolov's Ministry said in a press release. The two ministers concurred that the cooperation in innovations, ICT and tech parks should expand.


Karanikolov said that Serbia is one of Bulgaria's leading foreign trade partners. Two-way commercial exchange in the first quarter of 2019 increased 10.4 per cent compared to the like period a year ago and stood at 286 million euros, he said. Bulgarian exports to Serbia increased by nearly 40 per cent in Q1, reaching 152.4 million euros.

Popovic said that Bulgaria is an excellent partner and that his country wishes to improve the cooperation, in particular in the area of new technologies and innovations. IG/ZH//
