July 6 (BTA) - A Memorandum of Cooperation
Framework on the South East European International Institute for
 Sustainable Technologies was signed at the Western Balkan
Summit of the Berlin Process held in Poznan. On behalf of
Bulgaria the memorandum was signed by Prime Minister Boyko
Borissov who participated in the summit on July 5, the Bulgarian
 government's information service said.

The memorandum marks the start of a three-year preparatory stage
 for the implementation of a state-of-the-art facility for
hadron cancer therapy and biomedical research with protons and
heavy ions.

The South East European International Institute for Sustainable
Technologies (SEEIIST) was created on a proposal in late 2016 of
 Prof. Herwig Schopper, former Director General of CERN. RY/ZH
