Silvi Kirilov of There Is Such a People (TISP) and Nataliya Kiselova of BSP-United Left reached a run-off on Wednesday in the voting procedure for the election of chair of the 51st National Assembly. This was Parliament’s ninth attempt to elect its chair. 

In the run-off, 88 MPs voted for Nataliya Kiselova, 61 were against and 89 abstained. Silvi Kirilov received the support of 100 MPs, 119 were against, and 19 abstained.

In the first round Atanas Atanasov, nominated by Continue the Change-Democratic Bulgaria, received the support of 56 MPs, 109 voted against, and 73 abstained.

Kiselova received the support of 88 MPs, 64 were against, and 86 abstained.

45 MPs voted for Petar Petrov, nominated by Vazrazhdane, 129 voted against, and 63 abstained.

Kirilov received the support of 82 deputies, 121 were against, and 35 abstained.
