site.btaBurgas Municipality to Request Management of Planetarium from State

The Burgas Municipal Council on Tuesday decided to request the management of the PlanetUm Science Centre and the Planetarium in the seaside city from the State. Both sites are located in the free access zone of Burgas Port and are managed by the Port Infrastructure State Enterprise.

The reason for the request of the local administration is that the management of the described sites until now has not led to the development of the potential of the Science Centre and the Planetarium. Burgas Municipality has more opportunities for the effective management of these sites both in the field of education and in that of social services and tourism, states a report adopted by the municipal councillors on Tuesday.

The report also states that the Municipality will allow the site to be integrated into the existing network of cultural and tourist destinations, while at the same time ensuring better management, increased quality of services and creation of new educational programmes.
