On the eve of the Christmas holidays and the beginning of the new 22nd edition of the Bulgarian Christmas initiative, President Rumen Radev met with partners and donors of the charity initiative, the press centre of the head of State said on Wednesday.

"Bulgarian Christmas is not an ordinary donation initiative, but a cause that unites more and more people. It also gives us the strength to believe in the future, because we invest in the most valuable capital, the health of our children," said President Rumen Radev in a greeting to partners and donors of the initiative. The head of State met with them on the eve of the Christmas holidays and the beginning of the new 22nd edition of Bulgarian Christmas. The event was attended by his wife Desislava Radeva, as well as Vice President Iliana Iotova.

In his welcome address, Rumen Radev pointed out that philanthropy has been deeply rooted in Bulgarian traditions since the Revival period, when people of different social status, education and professions bequeathed churches, schools, community centres, universities and hospitals to future generations. He added that no matter how divided political life is today, the charitable initiative manages to bring together people from the entire political spectrum and from a variety of professions and social status to support children in need.

The President expressed gratitude to all partners and donors of the initiative, thanks to whom children in need of diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation have been helped.
