Vazrazhdane will support Silvi Kirilov, the candidate of There Is Such a People for the post of 51st National Assembly chair, if their support is sought, said Tsoncho Ganev at a news briefing in Parliament on Thursday. Vazrazhdane held a working meeting with Finance Minister Lyudmila Petkova and her team in connection with the draft budget for next year.

Ganev was approached whether Vazrazhdane would support Silvi Kirilov if he reached the roundoffs on Friday. “Yes, we would support him, as long as long as TISP seek our support, because you can not give support when no one wants it,” said Ganev. He recalled that as the third political force in Parliament they nominated their candidacy for the post, Petar Petrov, and strongly opposed the candidacy of GERB-UDF.

Earlier in the day, TISP met and talked with representatives of the BSP-United Left. TISP said that they expect BSP-United Left to discuss Silvi Kirilov's nomination for Parliament chair and come up with a decision.

Wednesday was the fourth unsuccessful attempt by the National Assembly to elect a chair, with GERB-BJP nominee Raya Nazarian and Silvi Kirilov - the most senior MP nominated by TISP reached the run-off vote while a majority is being formed in Parliament.
