Balkan political leaders Wednesday congratulated Donald Trump on his victory in the US presidential elections.

Serbia's head of State Aleksandar Vucic sent his congratulations via a post on his Instagram account. "Together we face the serious challenges that lie ahead. Serbia is committed to working with the United States for stability, prosperity and peace," he wrote.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan congratulated Trump on the victory through a post in the social network X: "I hope that in this new era that begins after the election of the American people, the relations between Turkiye and the United States will strengthen. I hope regional and global crises and wars, especially the Palestinian crisis and the Russian-Ukrainian war, will come to an end and I believe more efforts will be made to have a more just world," he wrote.

Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis also used X to congratulate Trump: "Greece looks forward to further deepening the strategic partnership between our two countries and working together on important regional and global issues," he added.

Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic also congratulated Trump in X: „Congratulations to Donald Trump on convincing victory and second term as the U.S. President. I look forward to our cooperation and further advancing Croatian-American relations."

Montenegrin President Jakov Milatovic also used X to send his congratulations: „Montenegro and the USA are friends and steadfast partners, united by shared goals and values, focused on advancing democracy, security, stability, and freedom. As NATO allies, we look forward to working very closely with Your administration on strengthening our friendship and deepening cooperation.“, he wrote.

Slovenian President Natasa Pirc Musar also welcomed Trump's victory: "Congratulations, Donald Trump, on your re-election as President of the United States of America. Our transatlantic family and the entire international community face many challenges today, and your leadership in addressing them will be of key importance. Slovenia is ready to work with you. Only together we can build a more democratic, safer, and greener world“, she wrote on X.

Republika Srpska's President Milorad Dodik congratulated Trump on his victory and expressed hope that his new term in office will bring a fresher vision for the US relations with the world and with Bosnia and Herzegovina in particular. "This is an opportunity for America to show that it respects difference and to direct its strength towards cooperation and stability, respecting the rights and needs of every people," he said, as quoted by the Bosnian edition of the regional television channel En 1. "For Republika Srpska and for me personally, Trump's victory symbolizes a return to the values we cherish - family, freedom of choice and the right to preserve our own traditions."

North Macedonia's President Gordana Siljanovska Davkova congratulated Trump on her official Facebook page. She pointed out that North Macedonia, as a proven friend and partner of the US, will continue to support US and global efforts for peace, stability and security based on the need for justice, respect for international law, freedom and human dignity in the world. Siljanovska expressed confidence that the strategic partnership between the two countries will develop in the future, and that the US will help North Macedonia meet its strategic goals.
