The Parliament of North Macedonia adopted a National Development Strategy - a roadmap and vision for the country's steps in the period 2024-2044, the government press service in Skopje said.
The strategy has been built through the partnership and support of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in coordination with all UN agencies, the UK Embassy and the Slovak Ministry of Finance, which support the process.
The objectives of the strategy are economic development and improved living standards, reforms that will improve the business climate and enable new investment and jobs, a corruption-free country, and quality education.
"The goal of the government, as well as of any future government, is and should be the country's membership in the European Union, not only because the country is geographically in Europe, but also because we need these criteria for a better standard and a better life. We as a government pay attention to knowledge, we give young people a chance and we will continue to do so. We as a government must mobilize every aspect of human knowledge and potential and build our society on the basis of cohesion, solidarity and vision. The National Development Strategy is an excellent and solid foundation for the development of the country and is a strategic document for the future steps of this and every future government," the government press office in North Macedonia said in a statement.
