The Energy and Water Regulatory Commission (EWRC) will discuss Wednesday the proposed 7.49% increase in the price of natural gas for November by public supplier Bulgargaz, according to EWRC’s schedule. At 10 am, an open meeting will be held at the EWRC building to discuss a report on an October 11 application by the public supplier to approve a price for November at which the public supplier is to sell natural gas to final suppliers and persons licensed to produce and transmit heat.
In its application to the EWRC, Bulgargaz has proposed for approval a natural gas price for November of BGN 68.49 per megawatt hour (MWh), which is 7.49% higher than the current price.
The EWRC approved a natural gas price for October of BGN 63.72 per MWh, excluding access, transmission, excise and VAT prices.
In its application to the EWRC, the public supplier added that in order to secure the requests of its customers in the gas year 2024/2025 it has organized tenders for the supply of liquefied natural gas at the terminal in the Greek city of Alexandroupolis. On the basis of the tenders, the company has selected Total as the contractor for deliveries for the months of October, November and December this year. The other source of natural gas is under contract from Azerbaijan. Bulgargaz has also scheduled production from the Chiren underground gas storage facility for November.
