An exhibition called Nine Stories About Tutrakan's Past will be opened on October 30, National Awakeners' Day, at the Tutrakan History Museum, said the museum on Monday.

The exposition will present the history of the town, which spans over 20 centuries, and the development of the region from ancient times to the liberation from Romanian occupation in 1940. It will feature objects which have been donated to the museum but not been showcased before.

"Museum funds are replenished by donors, but unfortunately, not all objects can be seen in our permanent expositions, due to the limited area of the museum halls", noted the museum, adding that behind every donated item there is a story that is patiently waiting to be told.

The exhibition will include finds from the 5th millennium BC, Thracian ceramics, exhibits from the ancient fortress of Transmariska, as well as from the time of the First and Second Bulgarian Kingdoms. Unique Renaissance icons from the Tutrakan spiritual district and old printed books, as well as church icons.
