Attending a roundtable discussing prospects, challenges and vision for the development of the construction industry in Bulgaria, caretaker Regional Development and Public Works Minister Violeta Koritarova said Tuesday that the construction industry is getting reinvigorated and has the capacity to be a partner of the ministry in implementation of different tasks. The event was organized by the Bulgarian Construction Chamber and the Stroitel newspaper.

Koritarova pointed out that the industry’s good prospects are also reflected in the increased number of companies in the Chamber's professional register, which are now 7,500.

"There will be projects for everyone - small, medium and large companies. It is important for us to resume the activities on the large infrastructure projects", the Minister said and reminded that the construction of new roads, part of the country’s road infrastructure, which has been frozen for a long time, has been restarted.

In recent years, the construction industry has gone through many hardships caused by the coronavirus crisis and the war in Ukraine, Koritarova stressed and voiced confidence that these difficulties are now in the past. She focused on the upcoming implementation of projects under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan, major infrastructure projects, road maintenance, and regional development.
