site.btaNational Library Unveils Literary Corner Dedicated to Romania
An exhibition and a literary corner of Romania were unveiled at Sts Cyril and Methodius National Library here on Monday. Director of the Library Prof. Krasimira Aleksandrova noted that this is the 32nd literary corner organized there.
Brandusa Ioana Predescu, Ambassador of Romania to Bulgaria, praised the excellent cooperation, including in the field of culture, between the two countries.
The Library received a donation of a few dozen books dedicated to Romania, its history, art, architecture and prominent individuals. Also included were fiction books from classic and contemporary literature
Aleksandrova noted the National Library of Romania was among the first to launch a book exchange campaign with the Bulgarian National Library in 1963. The Library here own 5,148 titles published in Romanian and other foreign languages. It has a successful partnership with the Romanian Academy of Sciences, with the university libraries in Bucharest and Timisoara and with Transylvania's research centre in Cluj-Napoca.
