A total of 9,353 polling stations in the country will utilize machine voting in the October 27 snap parliamentary elections, Central Election Commission (CEC) Deputy Chair and spokesperson Rositsa Mateva told a press conference here on Tuesday. She reiterated that according to the Electoral Code machine voting is available in polling stations where there are more than 300 registered voters.

Once the registration period ends on October 1, the CEC will also decide on the number of polling stations that need machines abroad. As of Tuesday, 1:30 p.m., some 13,469 applications have been submitted for voting from abroad.

Mateva reported that so far 23 parties and nine coalitions have registered to participate in the October elections. The lot with the parties' and coalitions' ballot numbers will be drawn on September 25.

The election campaign will last between September 27 and October 25.
