Election Preparations on Track, Ministers Report to Caretaker PM

Caretaker Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev announced that all election preparations are on schedule during a regular meeting about the upcoming snap parliamentary elections on October 27, 2024, the cabinet's press service said on Wednesday.

The meeting confirmed that Minister of Innovations and Growth Rosen Karadimov is still meeting with regional governors, with future discussions set for Veliko Tarnovo and Varna. The numbers of the voting machines set for certification will be publicly drawn later this week, on September 20. The steps to ensure real-time video surveillance and recording after election day in the section election commissions are also on schedule.

Minister of e-Government Valentin Mundrov noted the ministry's firm commitment to ensuring an open and transparent process for certifying voting machines in the upcoming elections. Mundrov added that the previous elections allowed party and NGO representatives to take part in this process for the first time and confirmed the ministry will provide the same opportunity for the upcoming elections.

The Minister of the Interior Atanas Ilkov, Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivan Kondov, Minister of Justice Mariya Pavlova, and Regional Development and Regional Development and Public Works Minister Violeta Koritarova-Kasabova also attended the meeting.
