Bulgarian Ambassador to Sweden Svetlana Stoycheva-Etropolski met with the President of the Stockholm City Council, Olle Burrell. Opportunities for strengthening dialogue and cooperation between Stockholm and the Bulgarian municipalities and the development of economic ties between the two countries were discussed during the meeting, which took place at Stockholm City Hall, the Bulgarian diplomatic mission in Sweden said on its website. 

The Ambassador had the opportunity to present the Bulgarian diaspora living in the city, the activities of the Bulgarian school and the activity and involvement of Bulgarians in the public life of the country. The role of cultural diplomacy and the importance of direct people-to-people contacts, as well as student and academic exchanges were also discussed, the Embassy said.

"Olle Burrell discussed the achievements of Stockholm in the field of green transformation and expressed the readiness of the Stockholm City Council to host representatives of Sofia and other cities in Bulgaria to share experiences and innovative solutions implemented by the city of Stockholm to achieve the goals of the environmental transition. A number of topics on the international agenda were also discussed, including Bulgaria's unconditional and comprehensive support for Ukraine," the Bulgarian diplomatic mission added.
