site.btaParliament to Vote CC-DB's Proposal to Elect Former Interior Minister Boyko Rashkov as Chair of Security Services Control Committee
MPs are scheduled on Thursday to discuss and vote on a draft resolution on the election of the Chairperson of the Committee for Control of the Security Services, the Application and use of the Special Intelligence Means and the Data Access under the Electronic Communications Act. Nikolay Denkov and Nadezhda Yordanova from the Continue the Change-Democratic Bulgaria are the sponsors. They propose their colleague and former Interior Minister Boyko Rashkov to head the committee.
According to the adopted agenda for the day, lawmakers will consider on second reading amendments to the bill amending and supplementing the Child Protection Act, with the sponsors being members of the GERB-UDF group. The amendments are aimed at protecting the health of children up to the age of 18, and provide for a ban on the use, sale and marketing of products other than tobacco, smokeless tobacco, new tobacco products and heated tobacco products. It is about restricting the use of substances, plant-based liquids, herbs or fruits that do not contain tobacco or nicotine and can be consumed by burning, heating, vaporising or other processes, as well as plants and substances prohibited in the Control of Narcotic Substances Act.
Also on the agenda is the first reading of amendments to the Civil Registration Act and the Environmental Protection Act.
The MPs will also discuss a draft resolution amending the decision to task the Minister of Energy to conduct negotiations with the Minister of Energy of Ukraine for the sale of equipment for the Belene nuclear power plant, proposed by Delyan Dobrev from GERB-UDF.
