The market index for wholesale food prices in Bulgaria went up by 0.1% to 2,033 points over the outgoing week, the State Commission for Commodity Exchanges and Wholesale Markets said. Last week, the index stood at 2,031 points. The base level of 1 point was set in 2005.

The price of greenhouse cucumbers went down by 3% to BGN 2.95 per kilogram, carrots went down by 3.2% to BGN 1.14 per kilogram, mature onions by 3.7% to BGN 1.10 per kilogram, and green peppers - by 5.1% to BGN 1.81 per kilogram.

The price of cabbage increased by 10.2% to BGN 1.08 per kilogram. The price of tomatoes increased by 5.4% to BGN 1.76 per kilogram, and greenhouse tomatoes went up by 0.8% to BGN 2.69 per kilogram. Potatoes were sold at BGN 1.07 per kilogram, up by 0.8%.

Peaches decreased in price by 0.5% and were sold at BGN 2.28 per kilogram, apricots went up by 1.8% to BGN 2.80 per kilogram, watermelons - by 2.2% to BGN 0.63 per kilogram and melons - by 6.5% to BGN 1.06 per kilogram. The price of lemons increased by 1% to BGN 3.18 per kilogram and bananas went up in price by 2.6% to BGN 2.77 per kilogram.

The price of white brined cheese made from cow's milk increased by 10.6% to BGN 10.97 per kilogram, while yellow kashkaval cheese, type Vitosha, decreased in price by 0.4% to BGN 16.74 per kilogram.

Yoghurt, with a fat content of 3% and over, increased in price by 1% and was selling at BGN 1.25 for a cup of 400 g. The price of fresh milk, with 3% fat content, went up by 0.3% to BGN 2.28/litre.

The average wholesale price of poultry meat increased by 2.1% to BGN 6.39/kg, the price of eggs (size M) increased in price by 3.4%were selling at BGN 0.30 per piece.
The price of rice went down by 0.9% to BGN 3.36 per kilogram, while lentils’ went down by 1.5% to BGN 4.29/kg. The price of dry common beans decreased by 2% to BGN 4.23/kg.

Sugar went up by 0.3% to BGN 1.99/kg and sunflower oil went up by 0.4% to BGN 2.75/litre. Flour (type 500) increased by 5.7% to BGN 1.40/kg, while the price of butter from cow's milk increased by 1.9% to BGN 2,75 for a pack of 125 grams.
