site.btaHourly Labour Costs Increase by 10% in Third Quarter, Y/Y

December 20 (BTA) - In the third quarter of 2019, total
hourly labour costs paid by employers in Bulgaria increased by
10 per cent compared with the third quarter of 2018, according
to early estimates published by the National Statistical
Institute on Friday.

In industry, total hourly labour costs grew by 8.3 per cent, in
services 10.5 per cent, and in construction 10.1 per cent. A
breakdown by economic activity shows that the highest rise in
total hourly labour costs in the third quarter of 2019 compared
with the third quarter of 2018 was recorded in the real estate
sector (15 per cent) and education (12.8 per cent).

Also in the third quarter of 2019, hourly pay costs incurred by
employers in Bulgaria went up by 9.7 per cent compared with the
third quarter of 2018, while other labour costs grew by 11.2 per
