site.btaSofia Airport Welcomes 7-Millionth Passenger for 2019

December 27 (BTA) - Sofia Airport on Friday welcomed its
seven millionth passenger in 2019 on an El Al flight from Tel
Aviv.

2019 was a record setting year for Bulgaria's largest
international airport. In November alone the airport handled
over 522,000 passengers, up by 7.25 per cent from the same
period a year earlier.

Sofia Airport Executive Director Vladimir Rapondzhiev said that
increasing passenger and cargo traffic is one of the main goals
and that the management works all year round to achieve it.

From 2019, 22 air companies operate out of Sofia Airport to 57
destinations. Four of these are new - to Stuttgart, Dusseldorf,
Marseille and Nottingham. NV/PP
