Approached for comment on the political situation Thursday, Vice President Iliana Iotova said that hopefully, reason will prevail and there will be a government under the third exploratory mandate. "We need more than ever a stable state and functioning institutions," she added.

Iotova stressed that there will obviously be no government under the second mandate. "From now on, the President will decide when to hand over the third mandate. We will wait for the President to come back [from the UK] and assess the situation and decide who will get the third mandate," the Vice President added.

According to her, there are two paths. "Either to continue the path of reason, to continue the dialogue that the political forces started yesterday [Wednesday], or the parties and political forces to again close in on themselves in their election talk. This is not good for the country, I am convinced of this," Iotova underscored.

Earlier on Thursday, Continue the Change-Democratic Bulgaria (CC-DB) said they are ready to return the second exploratory mandate as soon as the President hands it to them.

According to her, after Wednesday's talks between the political forces, good proposals and ideas were heard, and a desire for joint talks to overcome division lines was demonstrated.

Asked whether she is optimistic about the third mandate, Iotova said she is always optimistic, but unfortunately reality contradicts her too often. "There are requests from several political forces. They offer a wide open fan for talks, negotiations, they are willing to make certain compromises," Yotova added.

She was adamant that beyond political intrigueBulgariay should adopt its budget.

According to her, it is not the time for changes in the election law.
