Many Bulgarians who have been living and working in the UK for a long time will vote in the general elections on July 4. Some are staying, others are returning to Bulgaria. There are also those who have just come to London for shopping, but definitely want to exercise their right to vote as British voters.

Here are the opinions of a few Bulgarians who also have the right to vote in the UK, shared with BTA's special correspondent in London:

Kristiyana: I have lived in England for 21 years. It doesn't matter if it is in Bulgaria or in England or in any country, you just have to vote. I think that on July 4 decisions will be taken that will turn the future of England upside down. I think that some time ago, when Brexit was voted on, many of the English and other immigrants with the right to vote made a very wrong decision, but only now are they realizing the consequences because the facts were not presented to them in the right way.

Stanislav: The standard of living in London has changed dramatically. About 5-6 years ago things were much better, that's my personal opinion, but now they are not so good. We are waiting for our passport to go to Bulgaria.

Kiril: This election campaign is very strange, it started as a boring campaign on both sides - on the Conservative side and on the Labour side. One party emphasized how incapable the other was of governing and vice versa. But this dull and predictable pattern was shattered by the noisy entry of Nigel Farage and his Reform UK party into the election campaign - he drew attention to himself.

Another thing that is key for the mass voter, I would even say it is the most key and very painful because it affects everyone, is the disaster of the last 4-5 years with the National Health Service. People waiting for months for the most basic check-ups, losing their lives sick with cancer - just an extremely scandalous situation. And despite the fact that almost a quarter of the UK budget goes specifically to the NHS, it needs some very radical and painful, I would say, reform.
