Foreign Business Organizations in Bulgaria Call for Dialogue, Compromise among Politicians

Foreign business organizations in Bulgaria sent an open letter addressed to political leaders and MPs to call for dialogue, constructiveness and setting clear goals while forming of the government. The joint position calling for compromise and signed by the American Chamber of Commerce in Bulgaria (AmCham), Belgium Bulgaria Luxembourg Business Club, Bulgarian-Spanish Chamber of Commerce, Bulgarian-Swiss Chamber of Commerce, German-Bulgarian Chamber of Industry and Commerce, Confindustria Bulgaria and the French-Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry arrived in BTA on Tuesday.

The foreign businesses called on politicians to reach consensus on issues of key importance for Bulgaria's development, such as ensuring the independence of the judiciary, reducing corruption, increasing transparency and efficiency in the governance of the state, protecting the people's fundamental rights and freedoms, prioritizing the security and welfare of all social groups.

In the area of economic development and social justice, the foreign businesses here highlighted the need to create a sustainable economy based on science, innovation, which ensures stability, prosperity and is well integrated into the transatlantic economy. Other priorities listed in the letter include making a concerted effort to join the Eurozone in 2025, as well as fully joining the Schengen area. Social justice and equal opportunities for all citizens should be the main objectives of any policy, the organizations stressed.
