Hristo Ivanov, the former leader of the Yes, Bulgaria! party which is part of Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria (CC-DB) coalition, has resigned from Parliament, said his party. It was confirmed by Parliament's press office.

Ivanov had said he would resign from the legislature and from the party's leadership after CC-DB lost nearly half of its supporters at the June 9 elections for national and European Parliament.

He had asked that his resignation be immediately put on Parliament's agenda.
