site.btaTrain Accident near Pleven Kills Railway Worker, Leaves Another in Serious Condition

A railway accident near Pleven on Thursday night claimed the life of a 56-year-old employee of the National Company Railway Infrastructure (NCRI) and left a 51-year-old worker of the company in serious condition.

Both of them were hit by a train in the vicinity of Gorni Dabnik Dam, according to the engine driver. NCRI said the two were working on the rail track at that time. 

The injured man was taken to hospital.

The engine driver reported the accident to the Pleven Regional Directorate of the Interior Ministry (RDIM). It was a Varna-Vratsa train, RDIM Spokesperson Mariana Tsvetkova told BTA.
