March 27 (BTA) - Bulgaria's gross external debt amounted to 33,797 million euro (52 per cent of GDP) at end-January 2020, the Bulgarian National Bank reported on Friday. Compared with end-January 2019, it dropped by 97.7 million euro (0.3 per cent).

Long-term liabilities were 25,631.2 million euro (75.8 per cent of the total debt, 39.4 per cent of GDP) at the end of January 2020, decreasing by 177.2 million euro (0.7 per cent) compared with end-January 2019.

The gross external debt of the general government sector stood at 5,434.2 million euro (8.4 per cent of GDP) at end-January 2020 . Compared with end-January 2019, it dropped by 82.3 million euro (1.5 per cent). RY/VE//
