Bulgaria's rhythmic gymnastics ensemble, Boryana Kaleyn, Stiliana Nikolova, Dara Malinova and Magdalena Valkova won a total of eleven medals (five gold, two silver and four bronze) at the first ever European Rhythmic Gymnastics Cup held in Baku, Azerbaijan.
Stiliana Nikolova became the champion in the first ever "cross battles" for the all-around, and Sunday added another gold medal in her only final - the clubs.
Boryana Kaleyn won three medals. On Saturday, she almost got a medal, but finished fourth. On Sunday, Kaleyn made a return, winning two gold medals in the ball and ribbon finals and a silver medal in the hoop final.
The women's ensemble consisting of Magdalena Minevska, Sofia Ivanova, Kamelia Petrova, Rachel Stoyanov and Margarita Vassileva triumphed in the three ribbon and two ball finals. The pupils of Vesela Dimitrova and Yasena Stoyneva also secured the bronze in five hoops and on Saturday finished fourth in the all-around.
Dara Malinova and Magdalena Valkova won four medals. A pupil of Raina Tosheva, Malinova took two bronzes in the hoop and the clubs and recorded seventh place in the ribbon final. Magdalena Valkova showed a solid game and deservingly took bronze in the ball. On Saturday, the two won the silver medal in the team competition.
