Euler Hermes:
Bulgaria's Non-payment Risk Rating
Remains Moderate

Sofia, April 1 (BTA) - Despite the aggravated economic situation, Bulgaria's rating in terms of non-payment risk remains at B2 (medium), according to a quarterly report by credit insurer Euler Hermes, released on Wednesday. Nine of the 18 monitored sectors in this country, however, have been downgraded as sensitive.

The report studies 242 countries, which are assessed according to 40 short-term and long-term indicators. The country risk rating measures the risk of non-payment by companies in this country. The overall evaluation is made of two elements. Country grade is a medium-term assessment, ranging on a six-level scale from AA, A, BB, B, C and D (the highest risk), while country-risk level provides a short-term rating from 1 to 4 (the highest risk level).

Each country report evaluates 18 sectors colour-coded in green (low risk), yellow (medium risk), orange (sensitive) and red (high risk).

Half of the sectors under observation in Bulgaria are evaluated as sensitive, after automotive parts manufacturing became the last downgraded sector in the latest quarterly report. Software and IT services is the only sector in Bulgaria evaluated as low risk. RY/PP/МЙ/
