Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria (CC-DB) Co-Chair Hristo Ivanov said in an interview for the Bulgarian National Radio (BNR) here on Sunday that the caretaker Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev proved to be unable to be independent. Commenting on Glavchev's proposal to take over the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ivanov said that even a potential return of Glavchev's as the head of the Bulgarian National Audit Office would be problematic.

Asked whether CC-DB could coalesce with GERB after the snap elections in June, Ivanov said: "GERB must choose a direction - whether they will be an affiliated organization of [co-leader of the Movement for Rights and Freedoms, Delyan] Peevski, who is the de facto co-chairman of GERB at the moment, since he holds operational meetings, attends the executive committee meetings, summons them."

Vazrazhdane leader Kostadin Kostadinov said in another interview for the BNR on Sunday that his party strongly objects to Glavchev's proposal that he also takes over the Foreign Ministry. Kostadinov described this proposal as an attempt to whitewash the caretaker Cabinet's failure.

The leader of Vazrazhdane also spoke about his party's proposed vote of no confidence, which is supported by the Bulgarian Socialist Party and There Is Such a People, saying that it is absolutely legitimate. According to Kostadinov, if the vote is successful, a new caretaker cabinet should be formed.

Glavchev told reporters on Saturday that he had spoken to President Rumen Radev the previous day and proposed to take over the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from the current caretaker Minister, Stefan Dimitrov.

BSP leader Korneliya Ninova told journalists that whether the foreign minister is Daniel Mitov or Dimitar Glavchev, the decisions will be made by GERB leader Boyko Borissov. "It will be like appointing Boyko Borissov foreign minister because both of them are notable figures of GERB," Ninova said. In her words, with each passing day evidence is emerging that this caretaker government is actually GERB’s political cabinet.
