In this year's 16th edition of the Young Wine Festival, a record high 51 Bulgarian winemakers are presenting their products, the main organizer of the event and Chair of the Tourism Council – Plovdiv Lyubozar Fratev reported here on Friday. This comprises nearly 20% of all winemakers in the country, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food Yanislav Yanchev said at the opening of the festival, which is taking place on November 22, 23 and 24.
A total of 65 participants, among whom some of the best wine and food producers across Bulgaria, will take part in the event.
Before the official opening of the festival, the traditional Dionysius procession set off from Stefan Stambolov Square and marched along the main street of Plovdiv, heading towards the Old Town. There the first barrel of young wine from the 2024 vintage was opened.
